i'm thinking of cancelling my xm since i'm never in the car. and i'm getting netflix. comments?

ahem!

i have netflix, why hasn't anyone invited me to be on their friends list except amy?

People from the south like to shovel because they don't HAVE to shovel. That's the way it is.

well i've survived my first day at work. i went in, got a briefcase bag and a huge manual, filled out some forms, etc. then my new boss took me to lunch at a japanese hibatchi grill place and i went back to the office and got a stubborn laptop and another huge manual. if the snow keeps me from getting to work tomorrow (whatever), i'll have a huge manual to read. big fun for me. i went to the gym yesterday but today i want to take a nap.

i watched most of the oscars and was very sad at my own performance in the pool.

why do people shovel when it's still snowing, but we'll only get 6 inches total?

I didn't phrase that correctly so I'll try again - I think children should be allowed to stay up as late as they want until they start school. I think that sounds better but I'm sure Robin still disagrees with me.

Hey snoop - let us know when the cancellations start rolling in. Blog poll: will there be school tomorrow? Will there be bridge tomorrow? Will there be Tripe Tuesday tomorrow?

Snoop, shall I call in if bridge and tripe tuesday are cancelled?

I think three year olds should be allowed to watch awards shows. They should be able to stay up as late as they want until school starts. Probably Robin would disagree with me though.

I HATED the crowd give-aways. I didn't mind the groups on stage though - it saved time.

Ok here are my comments...

First of all. Where the hell was Joan? I really missed her on the red carpet. Who were those dweebs that WERE on the red carpet? I loved how they'd ask you a question then cut you off!!! (Clint's behind you Orlando so shut up now.) Jeez. LOVE Orlando in black hair however - it makes him very scrumptious.

Fashion -
Wrinkles are in! Apparently...Annette has gone WAY up in my estimation because of her lack of botoxification. She and Warren looked pretty good.

Best Tux - Jeremy Irons

Best Hair (man) Robert Richardson

Best dress - well I don't know if I could pick one but even though I don't particularly like Renee, I'll give her points for visual effects with her red dress, white skin and black hair.

Worst dresses - tie - Beyonce's silver one that made her hips look like the Himalayas, Gweneth Paltrows complete paleness look and that ABC announcer chick with the gold dress.

Awards -

Robin Williams was funny, considering the controversy re: his "cartoon song" he got all the same jokes in, however. Good for you Rob.

Chris Rock - I was glad he did his political thing and was surprised the f-bomb didn't get dropped ONCE. He did say "ass" twice though.

Congratulations to Hilary Swank for being- "the First woman to be nominated for playing a boxer in a movie". What a ridiculous thing to say.

Also we loved Andrea Arnold and the "Dogs Bollocks" comment.

Is that? I think so.

Best commercial - Colin Mockery
Best lotion commercial - Olay Regenerist.

Blog poll: How much lotion did you use during the show? I couldn't get enough with all those people telling me how wrinkled I was getting just sitting there with no lotion on me. I got out ALL my lotion and applied liberally - SEVERAL times. I hated the lipstick commercial though because mine was in the car and I didn't have anything to put on my lips.

Product most likely to buy based on Oscar Commercials: It WOULD be olay regenerist if I didn't just get two new lotions, but it's L'Oreal Kissable lipstick.

Well I have a lot of Oscar Comments....so here goes.

I don't know why the hell I watched the oscars - as I had only seen TWO of the movies and I didn't care about any of the rest. But it WAS more exciting knowing there was a yahoo competition going on. JK and I watched it all unfold with a HELL of a lot more excitement than we would have had other wise - but first....

Updates on the Unwell...

Everett is Well again. He got home yesterday and is doing fine.
Andrea W. got out of surgery and also went home yesterday. Her back is better and she can walk.

Aunt Ruth is home and happy.

I think that's it.

Congratulations LTL on winning the Oscar picks!!! I guess all those magazines REALLY paid off for you didn't they!! JK thinks you need an alternate career as an entertainment writer.

Sunday, February 27, 2005

After 6 it's:

Jen 300
Michelle 400
Sean 300
LTL 600
Rachael 300
John 300
Snoop 400
Amy 200

Looks like LTL will get to keep those mags! I wish they'd stop showing the lotion commercials - it's making my skin thirsty.

after two awards...JK, LTL and Snoop are tied at 200

JK wants to know what the prize is for winning the oscar picks.

Blog Lesson of the Day

Apparently everyone doesn't know this so I'll tell you. Go down to my "Fishing with John" review. You see the three dots before "Blog Review"? That means there is a LINK there. You can click on that line and it will take you to the IMDB Fishing with John page. See? Dots mean links.

Blog Review: Fishing with John

Imagine watching someone fish for real for an hour. Imagine that person has NO idea how to fish. Imagine that person has lots of celebrity friends so he takes them along and they don't know anything about fishing either. This is Fishing with John. It's funny but in an "I can't believe someone actually financed this" kind of way. It's like watching Ralph fish - but without any actual fish making an appearance - and, very suprisingly, without very much beer. Starring John Lurie, Willem Dafoe (in Maine no less, ice fishing), Matt Dillon, Jim Jarmusch, Dennis Hopper, Tom Waits and I think that's it. Watch it for yourself - if you want to sit there saying "oh my God this is ignorant" for 2 hours.

Good news for people who like pickled organs

Tripe is BACK!!!!!

You can get it at Hannaford on broadway in Bangor. Today is the first day they've carried it and I was THERE for the premier. You should have seen the celebration. As soon as I asked the butcher there were three other people there for it. We practically fought over it I'm telling you. This week will be "Tripe Tuesday" at Orlie's. (Right before bridge)

i got all my clothes into 2 large suitcases and 3 medium ones, not including shoes or sweaters. i think i have too many effing clothes.

i'm the one who is mad that you're not going. amy's under the impression that you're going to find a way to make it happen.

i think amy can't blog anymore. i think she has an evil demon network administrator. she really should find naked pics of that person on the net and use them as blackmail.

good job. looks like you and i are the only bloggers today. so tomorrow i'm calling everyone i know to kill time in the car...what time do you want your call?

you can if you want though i assume he'll just block your email address.

today i've been packing up and thinking a lot about that guy who used to hang out with us. i don't like him much.

my last post for a few hours

rush trip to bangor you know..

You're The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy!

by Douglas Adams

Considered by many to be one of the funniest people around, you are
quite an entertainer. You've also traveled to the far reaches of what you deem possible,
often confused and unsure of yourself. Life continues to jostle you around like a marble,
but it's shown you so much of the world that you don't care. Wacky adventures continue to
lie ahead. Your favorite number is 42.

at the Blue Pyramid.

you know how sometimes you get an email that was sent to all these people , and then some dumbass hits "reply all" instead of "reply" and then everyone on that long list gets the reply they don't care about? people hate that crap. especially people who get a lot of email. and yes, forwards too. i'd tell you i hate those but then i know you'd send me every one you get, so i'm not gonna say it.

I STILL KNOW IT JENN!!!

The Sex Pistols
Old school punk! You just say what you have to say
regardless of what everyone else thinks!
You're one of my most favourite types of
music... You're raw and uncut! You're
surrounded by hype...just don't let it make you
go insane...

What genre of rock are you?

I hate group emails. These are jokes that you forward to everyone in your address book, indiscriminately. You need to be warned not to send them because they are obnoxious and 99 times out of 100 really ignorant.

and i wasn't sure if you were thrilled and honored to be in the game. i guess everyone's right. it's now "cool" to be "gay".

no one. it's just a standard disclaimer.

I forgot to watch survivor last night and only caught a bit of apprentice because JK was watching B-ball. I read Dave Barry and went to bed early.

well, we can all relax. my drug test came back negative.

You're Cat's Cradle!

by Kurt Vonnegut

You believe quite firmly that free will deserted you long ago and far
away. As a result, it's hard to take responsibility for anything. Even though you show
great potential as a leader of a small 3rd world country, the choices are all made ahead
of time. You're rather fond of games involving string. Your fear of nuclear weaponry is
trumped only by your fear of ice.

The Strokes
Garage rock! I like you... I like you alot! You
and indie are on the same plane for me! You
bring rock'n'roll down to its dirty roots,
whether being minimalist like The White Stripes
or retro like The Strokes. You keep on doing
what you're doing! Oh...and did I mention I
like you alot?

Tourney Update

Ashland beat So. Arroostook. Lee is ahead of Greenville.

Of course I won't be getting DD for 4.5 years because it's #291 in my queue.

Anyone ever seen Family Guy? Netflix is recommending it to me.

Apparently I will have to see this Donny Darko person. JK has not read HHGTTG either so perhaps we should double date.

and i WILL get donny darko and i will LOVE it!

i wrote a long answer to your q about the movie ltl but it's apparently vanished into the ether. the short answer: the movie won't have enough guns to please american audiences.

tonight is my last night at amy's (for a month) so we're having red hot dogs.

today's outing

well today i cleaned a lot of shit out of my car. then i drove over to prompto and got an oil change for the last time from the nice guys who work there. they know me by name now and always are very sweet. then i went to tj maxx to look for an attache bag because i seem to have packed mine somewhere that i can't find it. no luck. then i went to the car wash place and the old guffer there took the no w sticker off my car. i vaccumed and washed. then i stopped at kfc and got a disgusting sandwich and then i went to dd and got a good iced coffee. now i'm home and really tired. but i must pack one suitcase before i nap.

good news for people who like movies

my loving sister rk bought me a month subscription to netflix as a moving present! yippee skippee!!!! and waaahooo! now i don't feel so left out of the crowd...and YES, amy i know i could get movies from yours, but then i'd feel bad if i didn't watch them for a week (which happens). everyone...tell me one movie i MUST put on my queue! taggers too!

blog review: kfc's honey bbq chicken sandwich

it's little. it tastes like beer. it's disgusting.

i was also thinking i'd have to re-read. i'm pretty excited.

I might have to read that book again before I see the movie,

Bridge Report

Bridge was at suzanne's hosted by myself. Faye is in Florida and was absent. The special guest was Aunt Hopie - it's always a good time when she's here. In honor of the special guest we suspended the treat suspension and I forced Suzanne to help me make chocolate pie. She made an elegant crust and I made an very good pudding though it could have cooked a bit longer. Suzanne didn't think it was sweet enough but I did. I didn't think it was chocolate enough for my taste but no one else complained. I blame that on the Hersey's cocoa which is not as strong as the cocoa I usually use. Suzanne and I fought about every aspect of making the pie, from how much sugar and chocolate to use, to when to put in the eggs to when to pour it in the crust. Still it was a good pie and that's what matters isn't it? The cards sucked. High was won by Lora, Suzanne - Low, Helen-Goose. The prizes were cute little plants from mardens and clear fingernail polish also from mardens. Discussion was of church renovations, the relationship of Sharon Pelletier to Lenny and misc. fall weddings. A good time was had by all. Next week will by hosted by Lora.

Bumpa Report

Today he will find out if he needs to have a pacemaker installed. If so he will be moved to Tampa. I don't have any idea what a pacemaker has to do with his surgery so don't ask. I'll let you know if I learn any new information.

i think i like these 'queens of the stone age' fellows.

my god i have a lot of product. i honestly believe i could go 5 years without buying lotion or soap.

i found out last night that the company i was just hired for is now being bought out by the #2 defense contractor in the country. so now i work for this HUGE company, with like, 170,000 employees or something. i hear they have a good retirement package. and i also hear they have an office in augusta.

maybe when you run out of sponges you'll be allowed to get a new dishwasher that actually cleans gunky dishes without washing them beforehand.

i'm so depressed about your not going. it simply will not be the same experience.

today i should be packing. i really should. i don't have one article of clothing packed yet.

what the hell is wrong with the tag!

i just went for my drug test. thank god i didn't have to wait long because i REALLY had to pee. after that i took a vt teddy bear that tyler bought for me over to the hospital and told the receptionist to either give it to a sick kid or put it in the pediatric wing or something. she said "then you won't have to look at it!" and i said "EXACTLY!!!" ha ha ha!

wow. you're a hero. are you gonna be on the today show like the cats who dial 911 to save their owner's lives?

warm fuzzy of the day

I haven't done my oscar picks either. It should be very interesting this year as I have not seen ANY of the pictures.

Tourney update

I picked up JK at 5:30 yesterday. I also saw Sean for a sec. I love the long hair! How long is he going to let it grow? JK went again to the tourney this a.m.

There must be something about bad music that hypnotizes children because it's in EVERY kids movie. Why can't White Stripe or Eminem to kids movie music?

poor andrea is layed up with a bad back. she's now a backtalker (one who sits and complains about one's back).

rk did a lovely job recapping the weekend. i need FET LM's address if anyone has it. my address book has disappeared. i'm obviously going to have to get a palm pilot so people can hack into it and post my addresses to my rock star friends on the net.

Blog Review: September 11

11 shorts about September 11 by an array of international directors. Most of them were quite good. I would say two were Excellent and 1 was very bad and one was very weird. Worth watching though - but be prepared to have to figure out a lot of symbolism at the end, and when you DO figure it out please let me know. Thanks.

Part 7

Then at 8 a.m. yesterday Jen called to inform me they were going to breakfast. So I went along. We went to timberhouse where Ellen, Jen and I had southern omelettes and Leigh had a sunshine sandwich or something. We all had 3 cups of coffee except Jen. Then we went to Mardens and Hannaford and gave Jen a really hard time. Team teasing is really the best isn't it Jen?

Part 6

We got to the 'rents and started cooking. My charge was dessert so I made cupcakes with fudge frosting and chocolate mousse on top but they came out more like brownies because I didn't carefully read the recipe. Still they were tasty and extremely chocolaty. Suzanne made the best rolls ever, Orlie made lasagne and Leigh made salad. Jen was thrilled that she didn't have to cook one thing. Cheryl, Jerry Becky, Ellen and Ralph all came. We drank wine and gave Jen a hard time. A good time was had by all.

Day 3 part 5

Jen came at 8 and we had coffee and bagels and awaited Leigh's arrival. Well, she never showed up. Finally we found her at Ellen's. We went to Lincoln to do errands and pick up shit for Jen's partay. We went to Marden's where I got AMAZING deals. A DeLonghi toaster $36.97, and abercrombie and fitch wool sweater $5 and who knows what else. I don't know what leigh and jen got. Then we went to Oriental Jade for Jen's final crab rangoons. Jen got a headhunter, leigh got a love potion, I got a diet coke with lime. We had dumplings and rangoons. Jen had a #16, Leigh a #18 and I got garlic chicken. The girls had another round of cocktails and I got the keys. A fun time was had by all even IF we had to get our appetizers at the same time as our lunch. We had a TON of leftovers. Then we went to steaks and stuff for some supplies, got gas and came home to cook.

Part 4

We were VERY proud of ourselves for actually going someplace with our hairs all done. So we all had cocktails. Jen and JK - beer, Leigh - cosmo, me - vodka tonic. Mine was weak, Leigh's was strong. The cocktails at Chili's were strong - much better than Bugaboo. So for dinner Jen had some crab sandwich that I can't remember and clam chowder or something. JK had the prime rib, I had french onion soup and a ribeye that was flavorless and Leigh had quesadillas. None of us had dessert. JK had a coffee.

Part 3

After the hair affair, Jen, JK and I went to the Natural Living Center to pick up a few things, then to JoAnn to get yarn for Suzy, then to Borders where we met Lori for coffee. Big Coffee's. I got dark roast, I don't know what they got. We had a lot of fun giggling with Lori and catching her up on everyone we know. We all bought books. JK - some architecture book, Me - War and Peace and the mag Metropolis, Jen - The Word 2003 Bible. Then we left to meet Leigh at Sea Dog.

Part 2.

JK had a meeting, and we had hair do's to do so we split up. Leigh, Jen and I got coffee's at coffee express. I don't really know what they got but I got a medium darkroast. Then we went to Bob's. Leigh was first. She got a VERY cute cut. Then she took off and went to work then I got a cut (short). Then Jen got a cut and do but then Bob and I decided she needed highlights and his next customer was very late so he did her all over again. Now we love Bob, he does a FABULOUS cut and color, but for some reason he likes to style our hair FLAT and you know that's just not right. Anyway, JK showed up in the middle of Jen's highlighting with coffee's for Jen and I. Bob doesn't drink coffee.

Part 1. count the cocktails and coffees...

Well it's snowing - you know what that means. My cats have gone psycho. I will attempt to recap our fabulous Jenned-Off (my jeniferization of "send-off) weekend. This started on Thursday when Jen, Maddy and I went to the 95er for dinner after M's piano lesson. We all had burgers and desert.

Friday a.m. we got up and started to prepare for our day in Bangor. JK and I worked until 11. We all went to lunch with the Lovely Leigh at Chili's on Stillwater Avenue. Jen and I got cocktails: me - Margarita, Jen - something - I don't know what. Leigh - diet coke, JK, diet coke. Would you believe it they were out of limes. Is that even possible? We were all shocked and dismayed I must say. So we ordered lunch and were again disappointed to learn that they "didn't have anything that included breaded chicken" as they were out of that as well. Well we were QUITE put out, but for some reason we didn't walk out. I guess we all figured it would give us something to bitch about for the rest of the day - and boy did we.

I made the Les Halles cookbook roasted chicken last night. It was ablsolutely excellent, well I didn't quite make it the way he said to...as I had no fresh herbs. And NO we didn't eat the entire bird, but it was very tempting.

Blog Review: Valmont

Starring Colin Firth, Annette Bening, Meg Tilly and Fairuza Balk

1989, Directed by Milos Forman

The is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I'll rate it a negative 16 for general stupidity, a negative 6 for bad story and a negative 2000 for unbelievability. And you KNOW I wanted to like it because of Colin.

Annette stars of course as Marquise de Merteuil, now with a name like that set in Baroque France, I just couldn't handle her way too California accent. Give me a break. Also, the father of Ferris Bueller really can't play any rolls but that one, can he? You just can't take him serious. Meg Tilly was also terrible and I generally like her and Fairuza was SO stupidly acting that I couldn't believe her as an innocent. DON'T watch it!!! Even if you have a terrible crush on Colin Firth. Save yourself!!!!

I'll consider that to be a rave review of ND and since Leigh loves it and Jen didn't hate it, I WILL, in fact watch it for myself - even though after spending several hours with Jen and Leigh yesterday and the said, GEEZ and GOSH all day, I feel kind of like I've already seen it.

Bumpa Update

Bumpa is sitting up. His blood pressure has been stabilized. He ate a little yesterday. Phew.

Friday, February 18, 2005

my hair is so long that I can't even stand it. I can't believe I have to go to lunch without my patriots hat and face the world with this longness. Ugh.

Bumpa report correction

We don't know if he had a second surgery - consider that he did not and that there has been some sort of miscommunication between phone calls and yahoo messages. I talked to GG this a.m. She's going to see him at 10:00. His blood pressure has not yet been stabilized and they're playing with his medicine.

i don't mind if FET lori has my info of course.

i didn't watch survivor thank blog, but i did watch the apprentice.they were a little more together this week, but i still don't like any of them.

today i have already been to lincoln to get parts for my brake job, and now i have to get ready to go to bangor for lunch, though i still don't know what time lunch is or where we'll be. snoop, call me at suzie's to confirm.

Bumpa Report

Bumpa had to have a second surgery. He wasn't getting enough fluids and his blood pressure was too low. I'll try to call gram this a.m. and get a more complete report.

You will all want to be informed that I had a lovely chat with your former English instructor Lori. She asked about you all. I reported to the fullest extent possible. She asked me for all your email and mailing addresses. If you object to me giving them to her you better send me an email.

Blog Quiz: Who the heck is this anyway??? Posted by Hello

thank blog for tivo

how else would i get to see project runway AND american idol???

ok it appears that the blog got its act together. so today i'm going to do some recycling and return some clothes i bought and find a coffee somewhere and check my bank deposits every 2 minutes, waiting for my tax refund! damn them!

amazon.com is premiering the hhgttg trailer today! go look! it looks like it might be entertaining!

Does Liam have a birthday wish list yet? Is it on Amazon?

Well this may not be the appropriate forum for this discussion but if it isnt - what is? Here's my theory. In an extremely condensed nutshell. We're Americans. And though individually very few of us have true morals and consciences we really NEED to pretend we do. This movie not getting critical acclaim is NO accident. We're in the era of Bush, darlings, homosexuals or any other sexuals outside the "sanctity of marriage" shall not be discussed or condoned in any way.
The perfect symbol for our collective American morality, I believe, Jen and I saw during our tour of Ohio, and if you've had any discussions about this with me, please forgive my mentioning it again, but at more exits than not, on the right hand side of the road there is a church and on the left hand side of the road is a porn shop (which is probably larger than the church).

Also please forgive the extreme run-on sentence.

i think the blog just may be sucking ass today.

i do NOT like those shoes. i like the abercrombie ripped shorts shot on p 154.

Not knowing what you mean by OBVIOUS - I'll have to say no i haven't. Can you provide a little more detail?

JK flat out REFUSES to watch LOTR with me. How can I get him to watch it?

Blood Pressure Report...for those of you concerned with my health.

110/80.

Got weighed too, but I won't be publishing that number!

I STILL KNOW IT JENN!!!

How thrilling that we can share magazines over several hundred miles. Jen has it too. Ash you should subscribe and Leigh you should too. Amy you can too but I know how much you care about shoes and purses. There are good articles though - and it's a steal. Actually if you subscribed for Ash and Leigh you'd get a free subscription!!! So maybe you should give everyone presents - but then you'l owe Leigh, LTL and myself so I guess you'll have to weigh the cost/benefits...

I'll say 170 and they're opposite a brunette in a green dress...one word....FEATHERS!!!

some of you might enjoy this website...

Well I'm very happily flipping through my new Vanity Fair. I'm so thrilled I got a free subscription. How lucky am I...and you'll never believe it....there is a pair of high heeled shoes in it that I CRAVE!!! Sex in the City must be getting to me.

NO!!!! yuck

YES! OH YES!!

i'm pearl the shark too but i couldn't get it to past for some reason.

i'm planning a major purge of my wardrobe.

I do NOT have an ipod though I long for one desperately as they are SO in right now and their stock is about to split.

RR i do not have an ipod but i do notice the difference in sound quality on my xm radio. when i had a wireless transmitter the sound was MUCH better than it is now that i have to use my cassette player feed. it's so tinny and dim now. sad. but i have heard people complain about ipods sacrificing some sound quality. however, for me, i'd rather hear slightly tinny music than no music.

I saw this guy on the today show or something like that a few months ago. I think you should call him for a date, I think he's really nice and kind of geeky but I don't think he's cute. He might be gay so you might call him too, rr.

doesn't look that cute to me. maybe i'll invite him over when i get my own apt.

ltl do you have the C&B catalog of which we speak?

LTL i'm so confused as to your post. who crate and barrel? why does someone put their number in the catalog, and why would they have dinner with random people?

Morning all. Last night was NOT very exciting, I must say. I read VF and JK watched the Kinsey show. We both agree that he probably should be discredited as, from the view point of that show at least, he seemed to be a sex addict that used research as a way to get more sex; however, who know who the funding came from for the show and all that, the show could have been biased against him. Anyway.......

I almost called Lemur last night and probably will around 6 today if that's convenient...right before bridge.

Maddy is doing well at piano practice but the piano is SO out of tune it's quite painful for the rest of us. What are you doing today?

and amy had a stellar performance as "father" complete with corncob pipe and a moustache the same color as her hair!!!

geez! amy's concert. well, there were about 25-30 singers, they sang kids songs, they had singalongs, the condutor was a spitfire, i loved the girl who signed the songs, there was no parking, over 100 people there, a good time was had by all!

I STILL KNOW IT JENN!!!

Um hello??? We didn't get any reviews of amy's concert?!?!?!?!??!!

dad's been stuck so many times he could never be mad at anyone for doing that. Good news. Jen, Leigh and I all have appointments with bob. I have NOT scheduled to get my hair colored in case you were wondering.

ha ha ha!
that's a funny story. i'm sorry you got stuck again though. but i have to say, reminds me of the winter i got the truck and the cars all stuck off various places in the driveway many times. i thought dad was going to kill me.

and since STILL no one has finished my joke....I got my car stuck AGAIN!!!!! So, my car in a snow bank is red and stinky and white all over. It was in deep too. Luckily I had a team of experts to help me get unstuck. I'm sure it will be in the lincoln snooze.

!

I don't like Tucker Carlson either. He's not even cute.

...forgive a stupid question but....

Do you mean home Houlton? or home Guilford? I'm confused.

I know she was the reporter in Day of Destruction or whatever that was - see my review from 3 months ago...

and now - for the reveal - you all guessed wrong it is #3 - don't you people watch commercials?

leigh you have to guess then I can do the reveal? And NO ONE tried to answer my joke!! Which you must do, so I can tell you how I spent my morning.

amy's guess

I can't post today, i choose #5

late entry

6. COSMOLISION: a disharmonious combination of two or more urban
decorating styles in a single room or home

wasn't jason bateman the name of the killer in american psycho? i need to read and see that.

I STILL KNOW IT JENN!!!

Who'd have thought Jason Bateman would turn out to be a hottie. I mean, I really thought he was a dweeb when he was in Goonies or whatever he was ever in, and JUST Justine Bateman's little geeky brother. But now I totally think Jason Bateman is an absolute babe. If you name Jason Bateman in the blog enough times google will rate us higher on their returns list if you happen to google Jason Bateman.

the bateman has aged very well. and i choose #4.

...and that Justin Bateman is JUST my type....

Well, as JK and I watched Arrested Development too, I can actually answer that question...I liked it, we thought it was very fun. JK, unfortunately couldn't help but comparing the AD kids to some of his associates which made it a bit less enjoyable for him.

you might not believe it, but.....

i don't even dislike arrested development.

cosmolision

1. Cosmolision - scientific term for a liquid solution composed partially of salt water

2. Cosmolision - The act of combining two dissimilar atomic particles by means of nuclear force

3. Cosmolision - the term used to define removing scratches and dents from automobiles - see Maaco.

4. COSMOLICIOUS: pleasant tasting with a hint of sweetness and tartness;
reminiscent of the popular 'Cosmopolitan' bar drink.

5. Cosmolision - The event of two stars colliding causing the destruction of both.

One blogger didn't respond to the poll. Please provide you guess now.

RR that is a good game. i didn't know what it was either, so i'm going to make up something right now!

it's kinda cold this morning! what up with that?

i started 'infinite jest' 5 years ago and only have 70 pages left. i should really work on finishing that so i can pack it.

word of the day that is buggin me for some reason -

COSMOLISION

blog joke of the day

what's red and stinky and white all over?

I have only 70 pgs left of VF. Blog poll: what shall I read next?

Well, what do you think? We watched the ENTIRE grammy show last night. However it made us feel very old - as we spent the ENTIRE show saying "Who's that" and "what is SHE saying" and "That's the best song of the year?" I should have been blogging the entire time because I've forgotten all my witty comments.

Anyway here's my review...

Opening - WOW I don't know ANY of those people I am old. But I did love Frank Funkenstein or whoever they were.

Queen Latifa - looked fabulous - but should have not tried ANY of her jokes as they sucked royally.

Awards - did they give ANY awards?

Best acceptance speech - U2 - what acceptance speech?

Leonard Skynard and Marshall Tucker - If they proved anything, it's that today's singer's can't actually sing - who would have thought these dinosaurs could sing better than most of the grammy winners but the did!

In general I say this - music today would suck so bad if it weren't for engineers.

Worst performance of the evening - that Wilson girls trying to sing freebird..
Best performance of the evening - Melissa Etheridge and I can't even believe I'm saying that. She has a nicely shaped head and should keep it bald.

i had such a weird dream last night, let me just tell you some of the people it included:

jk, rk, a_lo, ltl, heidi, beav, charles, ruthie, cornelle, tyler, dad, some hispanic dude, mila, some old lady i didn't know. very weird. today i'm going to pack sweaters. i won't need sweaters where i'm going. at least for a while.

Sunday, February 13, 2005

So, we watched the news shows today and JK came up with a really good solution for Iran's "nuclear problem" AND the social security crisis. Invade - and have a draft of people over 55!!! Of course, they couldn't draft people related to me. But it's an interesting idea....

I

Welp, here we are again. Another lazy sunday. Dishes, laundry, coffee and that's about it. Maybe throw in a little reading and some golf.

OK first things first.

weekend plans? basketball schedule?

It's still friggin snowing here and we have about 15 inches of new snow. LTL why don't you have the day off today? Did CC?

from amy

my 80's outfit was just about the same every day; jeans, sneakers, t-shirt and another shirt over that, like a button down shirt that was not buttoned down, ironed or probably even clean, for that matter. . I remember one that was tan and i think i wore it every day. There was no way i could compete on a fashion level with the girls in my class whose mothers would take them shopping to the mall and buy them huge wardrobes. My 00's outfit is a slightly better version of the 80's one, khakis or other comfortable pants, a polo shirt, either long sleeved or short, and boat shoes. i admit, i'm no fashion plate.

from amy

Last night for jen's celebration dinner we had sub-par spam and egg sandwiches. Sub par because the bread was a little stale (not my fault) and the spam-to-egg ratio was a little higher than desired. Anyway, what better way to celebrate than by having spam and egg??? Apparently i'm buying the drinks when we go to dinner on sunday.

Don't you hate it when you wake up early just to shovel the end of the driveway then the plow guy shows up about 10 minutes after you are done? what a waste of time. I had had enough sleep though, i think i fell asleep before 8:00 last night!

from amy

you would think that with every school in the world cancelled and every respective parent staying home with their kids that dunkin donuts would have ONE chocolate chip muffin at 8:30 in the morning, but NNNNNNNOOOOOOOO!!!! I had to settle for blueberry.

I have two netflix, mailed on 2/2 and 2/3 that have NOT arrived. They better be here today!!!

...and I don't blame LTL. Pinata's are very fun to do one time. Shelby smacked Tyler during Maddy's party. Someone's bound to get injured during Lemur's party.

Any weekend works for me just tell me when to show up with the cake.

Well my car is unstuck and my drive is plowed. Thank goodness. Maybe I can get the cats outside. Pinata's are ok as long as they are well planned for. For example - have a good place to hang it where everyone else an stand far away - and don't make it too offensive so people won't punch it!!!

rr that is awesome. you rule. and it's a fact, women love gay guys.

god the apprentice made me sick last night too. who ARE these lame-os?

Herb 'as effective' as anti-depressant

[Posted: Fri 11/02/2005]

By Deborah Condon

The popular herbal remedy, St John's wort, is as effective at treating moderate to severe depression, as a commonly prescribed anti-depressant, the results of a new study indicate.

Until 1999, St John's wort was available in Ireland over-the-counter. However from January 1, 2000, it became prescription only. This decision, by the then-Minister for Health, Brian Cowen, angered users of the herb and health shop owners alike. An estimated 75,000 Irish people used the herb in 1999 alone.

Mr Cowen made his decision based on advice from the Irish Medicines board, which expressed concern over a number of issues, including possible side-effects and the possibility of the herb interacting with prescribed medicines.

For the purpose of this study, a team of German researchers compared the effects of a specially manufactured extract from St John's wort with paroxetine, which is a type of anti-depressant found in, for example, Seroxat.

The study involved 301 patients, both male and female, all of whom had some form of depression. The participants, aged between 18 and 70, took either the drug or herbal extract over a six-week period.

At the end of the trial, 50% of those who had taken the herbal extract found their symptoms in decline, compared to just 35% of those taking paroxetine.

Furthermore those taking the herbal extract suffered less side-effects. Altogether there were 269 adverse effects reported among the group taking paroxetine, compared to 172 in the herbal group.

The most common side-effect reported by both groups was stomach disorders.

The researchers said that they support the use of St John's wort as 'an alternative to treat depression' and would like to see more research in this area.

Speaking to irishhealth.com, a spokesperson for the Irish Medicines Board said that St John's wort 'remains a prescription only product. The IMB cannot comment on any plans to make the product available over-the-counter in the near future'.

Details of this study are published in the British Medical Journal.

I am in a fowl mood today. Maybe it's because it's STILL snowing AND my car is stuck. JK and I tried for an hour to unstick it last night but there's just too damn much snow. Hopefully the plow guy will come at some point. If not - what the hell - I can survice 'till spring without it I guess. I guess SOME people enjoy this though so I'm happy for them. M's piano lesson was cancelled yesterday. For dinner we had pizza and it was even better than last time because I kneaded the crust more.

ty rr! i will be hopping the train to philly asap after i get settled. i owe friends a visit!

in the 80's i had these hot pink stirrup pants with black things all over them. and rachael had prairie skirts and poofy shirts.

GOOD NEWS FOR PEOPLE WHO LIKE JOB NEWS

it's official. almost. as of the beginning of march i will be part of support services for an IT company whose clients include sony and the army. i don't want to put their name on the blog obviously. but i'll be part of a 3 person tech writing team, editing software manuals, and the guy i just spoke to already expressed desire to put me on the the track to becoming a trainer. sooooo, i cannot thank my friend todd enough, who, seriously, got me this job. the guy i spoke to told me that todd's word is all they need to hire someone. i'm moving to va! i'll be sure to buy a futon instead of a couch because i KNOW You'll all visit me!!!!

wow. That, I admit, is impressive. I remember a lot of people wearing those heart shoelaces though.

How could you have anything embarassing from the 80's? Parachute pants were cool!!! Especially if you had a giant comb in the back pocket. My God!!!

Ok let me think here. I wasn't an especially trendy dresser but there must have been something. I mostly stuck to jeans and tshirts. I did have a pair of parachute pants though, so maybe they'll have to do for you.

I meant have his party the saturday before D2 OR have his party at macdonald's some friday evening then you don't have to do any work.

Last night, for dinner, we had sauteed onions, rib eye and veggies. It was VVG. I also made tapioca for dessert and that was also vvg. I highly recommend the copper pot for pudding making. It is the perfect convector of heat. I have made two batches of tapioca and have not ruined any. For those of you intimately familiar with my cooking abilities you will know this is a triumph for me, as I have ever been a failure at pudding.

After dinner we watched 2 episodes of SITC, read a bit and went to bed. It was wonderful not to have to get ready for the bus today. I am told school is cancelled in Waterville for tomorrow so please let me know if you hear anything about our district.

I STILL KNOW IT JENN!!!

My poor cat. She hates the snow so much, but she also hates it that the kids are outside without her. She doesn't know what to do. (This is Taily)

It's going to have to start snowing a LOT harder if we're going to get a foot of snow today. M and I both slept till 7:15 which is bearable. I turned off the alarm so they wouldn't hear it and that worked just fine. I'm off to make pancakes.

have it saturday!!!

Just do it the next weekend. Liam won't care and won't know the difference. Put a sticker over the date on the invitations.

i bought it when i saw it

a jacket, two pairs of pants, a shirt, a skirt, and 8 60 minute phone cards. $36 and change.

Since it's Racy blog week - I'll let you know that JK and I are stopping for a Sex (in the City) break. Season 4 disc 3.

I'll just put some easter eggs in thomas' train car and it will be fine

...and since Jesus is the reason for the [Easter] season I don't know that it counts as swearing. But maybe it's a super swear - I'm not sure.

Is there any reason NOT to have it on Easter?

LTL are you aware that Lemur's party is on Easter? Jen confirmed this for me today.l

I have no idea what the buttoned fly is for but if I had to guess it's for easy access for the grab and go without having a pinching zipper around your what-for. I hate buttoned fly jeans btw.

truckers do appreciate the anonymous flash. they immediately get on their cb's and tell all the trucks ahead and behind that you're flashing. then all the trucks slow down by your car and look in. then you see someone driving a truck who lives in lincoln or burlington looking in your car to see if you're flashing. dont' ask me how i know these details.

The best place for an anonymous flash is on the highway. Flash some trucker and they'll appreciate it.

I STILL KNOW IT JENN!!!

In order to stay amazing I have popped 2 clorets gums and am drinking a bottle of water with lemon. I haven't showered yet though so how amazing could I be? I am wearing my pat's hat though so I do look amazingly cute.

Of course I have flashed someone I didn't know. Everyone does that once in their lives. And if you haven't...I double dog dare you to do it this week. Good polls Jen.

rr how was your date????

ahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

racy blog poll:

(this one doesn't really apply to rr but he can put his own spin on it)-- have you ever flashed someone you didn't know?

(again, of course i have)

good morning all. i'm on the world's strangest sleeping schedule. my mind is racing at night so i can't sleep. then if i wake up in the a.m. it continues to race. so i think i slept about 5 hours last night, of course i'll want a 3 hour nap this afternoon.....i'm a freak.

i think they're all out looking for transvestites to kiss.

i have no problem believing that r has kissed a transvestite. she's more raucous than any of you realize.

good luck with your date rr. speaking of the 'right occasion' for being in drag, i've always joked that if i ever get married, i want my bridesmaids to be gay guys in drag. are you up for that? is that the right occasion??

ok he wasn't an ACTUAL transvestite. he was a guy in drag. but i hear he REALLY likes to be in drag, so i counted it.

racy blog poll for tuesday

have you ever kissed a transvestite?

(i have, of course, or i wouldn't have asked)

good news for people who like cookie news

remember the ideal bar? well, i know only rachael, amy and i do. but, if you buy a new take5 candy bar, close your eyes, it's ALMOST like an ideal bar. not exactly, but close.

Perhaps LTL and snoop should have their own version of the bdn.

for super bowl munchies amy made AWESOME pigs in the blanket a la edith, who still lives. we also had crackers and garlic spread and doritos (my choice), and brownie sundaes. no calories consumed during the SB as usual.

it's cold in here today as the men are working and i think they turned the heat down. or amy turned the heat down when she went to work, i'm not sure.

um Leigh, I think you better send mom another email. You guys make me laugh out loud sometimes, and it's at the really ignorant stuff too, nothing clever.

ltl you were sitting, talking to yourself about large frying pans?

blog poll

so if someone had a cat and they had to move but they couldn't take their cat with them for 6 months, would ellen and ralph foster it for someone?

I detEST instant oatmeal. It's one of the most disgusting things on earth. I like real oatmean just barely cooked, practically crunchy.

take an 'n' out of my previous post somewhere.

good news for people who like people who like the gifts they get

i LOVE the product ltl sent me for my b-day! the olive oil body mousse is SO moisturinzing...the hair mask made my scalp not itch, and the root lifter is SO lift-y! i'm a happy girl.

poor leigh...

I can attest to how excited you were about how cute you were going to look.....

I like weather nymph, however, I think there should be a weather diva like a barbie doll - that you can dress how you like.

I had a heart healthy day as well (with the exception of too much coffee). Granola, banana, yogurt for breakfast and sardines for lunch.

since i haven't received my muchly anticipated phone call today, i think i'll go take a nap.

i'm not impressed with the oatmeal for women. it's like the soy powder changes the consistency of instant oatmeal, which is, let's agree, a bit sketchy to begin with.

I STILL KNOW IT JENN!!!

I think the blog is fabulous and i'm especially excited because I didn't have to do it!!!!

I'm having sardines for lunch.

oh and ladies, you know who you are...now that i have my stuff back, feel free to publicly insult whoever you want.

GO PATS!!!!!!!!!

blog poll guess

i suspect that both ltl and snoop have kissed boys (or girls) with tongue rings.

this weekend r and i went to ct to pick up my shit from ex-loser's place. i'm so glad to be out of that whole situation. new year, new life! no more drama!!

i'm so glad rr participates in our reindeer games.

i don't mind it, but i think i've seen a lot of blogs with this dot scheme.

is he 'the motorcycle diaries' guy?

oh and two cans of sardines.

I must need some protein or trans fat or whatever it is that fish has in it because I realize now that I purchased all fish yesterday - salmon, scallops, tuna, and shrimp.

RR I do believe that is your first movie review on the blog.

We're still waiting for RR, LTL and Snoop to answer the blog poll so we can have another one.

gawd.

you're so bitchy. i said "THANKS TO AMY"

I have not kissed anyone with any piercings except in the ears.

yesterday i made the BEST discovery, thanks to amy. a cheap gas station that has a reasonably priced carwash AND a drive through DD! OMG!!! my car was so FILTHY after following a dump truck for an hour friday. the car wash didn't even clean it all off but it got off a good layer which is all i could ask for.

racy blog poll

have you ever kissed someone who had a tongue ring?

i have, and lemme tell ya.....it is a GOOD time.

i would do tom brady, no question.

I agree with LTL.

I give him and F.

After that we went to the disney store where we almost bought a snow globe but ended up buying a dog on clearance. It's about 2 feet tall and it's name is "Lucky" even though I suggested "Brady". Oh well.

Jen and I then decided to go back in town and check into the hotel. Jen dropped me off then went to the parking lot. We met at starbucks (with JK). Then JK and Jen went to free street taverna to wait for me while i changed my shirt. They had beer, I had raspberry vodka and sprite or something. Then we went someplace and had an excellen dinner with Jen and Unk. It was SO good, excellent atmosphere and not bad prices.

You should come tomorrow. I'm going to be here all alone. I'll make shrimp scampi for lunch if you'd bring some fresh parsley.

....where we were trying to find some little thing for isaiah since i got maddy a shirt. We went to Discovery store and found nothing. Then we went to the body shop or whatever it's called, to smell their new candy scented line of product and we declared it putrid. Then we went to Williams Sonoma and admired everything. Then we went to Olympia sports where i got my cute had and I was sad that I had already bought a t-shirt because they had the number jersey's and I really wanted one, but couldn't justify the cost.

Well I typed the whole thing and forgot to save it and somehow closed the blogger window but oh well. Here goes again.

After our trip to Old Navy, Jen and I went to target where we purchased water with extra oxygen (whatever), a cute Patriots T-shirt for me, some hair shit for amy and a couple of other insignificant items. We were impressed with the new target line of trade goods or whatever you call them. Then we decided to take the easy way out and go to bugaboo for lunch. This way we didn't have to make any decisions about lunch. Jen had a salad and I had a burger. We both had cocktail. She had some kind of martini and I had a strawberry daiquiri. We were pleased with ourselves for having cocktails for lunch. Then we went to the mall.

I would help you if you want to come up tonight.

Poor LTL. I assume she has a sick kid today. Isn't it wonderful that it's spring already? Suzanne saw a robin today.

So, Jen and I were absolutely THRILLED that we had NOTHING that we HAD to do. Isn't that so much fun? So we decided to go to Old Navy where I was hoping to get a bargain shirt or two. I found two shirts for me a sweater for jk, a shirt for jen and a shirt for maddy. All but Maddy's cost $4 or less. Hers was $8. I found an adorable pair of shoes that I couldn't spend $30 on but i'll watch for them to be $10 or less.

I pick Donovan

In honor of racey week:

Gun to your head - Who would you do: (that means you MUST answer even if your only a tagger)

Tom Brady?
Donovan McNabb?

Oh yeah, for the record, Jen and I have designated Valentine's week "Racey Week" on the blog so blog accordingly.

So...JK and I left at 7:30 on Friday. We stopped at Nutter's Market for our first coffee of the day. We both got regular with cream and sugar. We were told that Nutter's doesn't brew decaf even though they have decaf pots. I think that's something that you do really need to know. We drove and drove and drove all the way to Augusta before we had to stop for more coffee. JK pumped gas and I got the java. He had hazlenut vanilla and I had some kind of dark roast. He had cream and sugar, I just had cream. We drove and drove and drove to Gray, where he had a meeting and Jen was picking me up. Jen was practically right there so we left JK.

oh yeah, I also won some groceries but that is hardly worth blogging.

I'm going to donate both the t-shirt and Tom to ESS to use for prizes at fun-night.

First the prizes.....

I have SO much to blog I'll never remember it all, but I'll try. Ok I'm going to report my weekend in no order but that by which I remember everything - so here goes.

We went to a hockey game with Unk and Jen and what do you think? I caught a Pirates T-shirt which was FLUNG into the crowd!!! I attribute my great stretching catch to the Pats who I have watched all year for tips. Thanks to Deion Branch and the gang!!!

Second, (this is MOST exciting) - on the way home yesterday we had to stop in Bangor for some crap. So - I dropped JK off at circuit city to look around for stuff. Then I went to Joann for Suzy to get yarn - it was half price. Then I went to hannaford for minor groceries and Superbowl snacks. I was wearing my incredible cute new Patriots cap. I bought fruit, salad, steak, scallops with bacon, kielbasa, chips, whatever else you buy when it's not one of those weeks you need everything, a few school snacks, a few veggies....so I was in the bakery (which on Bangor Mall Boulevard is very near customer service in the front of the store) searching for English muffins...when over the intercom, they announce that anyone that has a Patriots hat or t-shirt should come to costumer service for a prize. Well, normally I wouldn't do that kind of thing, but since my hat was so cute and I was right there, I gave up the english muffin search and mosied over. Well...I was the only one who showed up and I won an ALMOST LIFE SIZED TOM BRADY who was pitching Hersheys something or other!!!!! I was SO excited that Tom could be at our super bowl party with us!!! Oh yeah, i got to chose between Tom and Donovan and I obviously chose Tom. He looks as geeky in almost full size as he does on tv.

Blog Review

Lidia's tomato and herb marinara

OMB! You never have to make tomato sauce again. It's SOOOO good VERY fresh tasting and quite garlicky. PERFECT to my taste.

I don't care - if the kid wants a mix he can have it. What flavor?

i'm not going to be particularly kind to leigh today because she would think i was sick if i did. she knows i love her, and that we were put on earth to harass each other when we're grumpy.

I think it should be "be kind to Leigh day" so you give her a break Jen. You know how you HATE being told you're grumpy when you ARE DEFINITELY grumpy. The Buster show is about families and different kinds of families. I found it to be done in very good taste. Jesum. Leigh has GREAT taste. She adores Spinal Tap and all things with that Levy guy in them. She has great taste in clothes and always looks fabulous. Even when she's sweatsuiting it.

what's ridiculous about leigh is what she likes. john candy? chevy chase? give me a friggin break.

gawd you're grumpy leigh. take some midol already before you go postal on wlbz.

and i know no one cares, but i HATED adaptation! omg perhaps the biggest waste of 2 hours of my entire life...and this from a girl who spent 6 hours in a parking lot kicking a soda can.

i went on a shopping spree. now for me, that means i spent 20 dollars. here's where i went and what i got.

first i went to marden's, hoping to score some good schwag. there was really no schwag to be had, but i did find a plastic eyelash curler which i have been looking for, as the metal ones seem to pinch. it was 79 cents. i also picked up......i'll have to go get the bag. i know i got a white chocolate kit kat....oh. a little magnetic photo frame for 99 cents. i was really looking for a cute top, i could use some new cute tops, but mardens didn't have jack squat for the fat chick today. usually teh brewer one or the lincoln ones are good for that.

then i went to dollar tree. i didn't find anything i NEEDED, and didn't even see the awesome oatmeal lotion i love, but i picked up two candles and an eyeliner pencil sharpener.

then i saw marshall's. now i NEVER go to marshalls because their fat chick clothing selection is hideous. but i really want a new top. so i went over. i found the CUTEST little black sweater! it's got a cuffed top, almost off the shoulders, with fur trim around the cuff. fits me perfectly, $15 . can't argue with that. get to the counter, it's another 5$ off!!! so i got a really adorable sweater that looks good on me for 10 bucks. of course, i'll never have occasion to wear a fur trimmed sweater, but i do love it. and then i got a big iced mocha. now i'm home. i think i'll go wash my car in a few.

I recommend you do not make the caviar a day early as the avocado's get brown and mushy. You want it to sit for an hour or so before you eat it though. You are welcome to come to our SB party at Orlies of course.

In the interest of full disclosure, the moisturization lasts longer than the stench of the OPI.

Blog Product Review

O.P.I Avojuice Skin Quenchers - Grapefruit Juice

This is truly a skin quenching lotion. I love how it feels going on. However it is truly grapefruity smelling and the moisturizing goodness doesn't last as long as I would like.

Well, thanks to the Unions I believe he will be handily elected thank Blog. Jen and I have designated Sunday a National Pizza Holiday, so get your FAVORITE take out.

well. i got up way too early this morning and got my car. thanks for the lift a_lo. thanks also for the jerk chicken chimi which was lovely as usual.

today i'm going to try AGAIN to go shopping in sanford. then i'm going to get a large iced mocha for going without all week, and lunch somewehre. then i have plans for dinner, so it should turn out to be a lovely day.

Well, I'm happy to report that I did NOT watch the Dub last night. I read. So there. I don't really have anything else to report, except that I will not be in the office tomorrow so you can talk about me all you want to.

Wednesday, February 02, 2005

Anyone watching the Dub tonight?

my car is done!

now if i can just figure out how to get over there before 4:30....jake don't fail me now!

I agree with Jen so I guess I can't guess.

the triumphant return of lmqotd.....

groundhog day?

by the way snoop, you never did tell us what all those letters stood for yesterday and i'm still wondering.

i emailed ltl at work...i wonder if she got it?

Inquiring minds want to know....

BTW, RR, I noticed you slipped in Omar's name when you were taking about Hen's and French food. I meant to mention it before but I'm just getting around to remembering. What's the deal?

Of course I'm sure there will be plenty of farting horses in commercials etc. Frank Rich had a good comment on Imus this a.m. He said he was glad Foxx was making sure there would be no accidental erections before all the Viagra commercials.

Good News for People that Like Family Friendly Football

The concerned people at Fox have gone over McCartney's half time show (by five second increments) and have made sure there won't be ANY wardrobe malfunctions this year. They also axed a commercial featuring Mickey Rooney dropping a towel with his hairy back to the audience. Thank BLOG for censorship!

GG is busy and sick so give her a break!!! She called me yesterday to apologize for ignoring me online. Isn't that classy? (the apology obviously not the ignoring)

can you cancel the mailing of disc 1 and go rent it at the store? it's ok if you watch everything but the last episode of the season before you get disc 1. However, you MUST watch the last episode last.

good news for people who like car news

seems as though it's just the battery! fixed for less than $100! yay!!!!

The key to getting them ready in 20 minutes is organization and military style leadership. Backpacks are ready the night before. Maddy must have her clothing picked out the night before or she gives up her right to pick out her clothes. Snowgear get's put out and ready to be put on. Then you get up get dressed and out the door. Breakfast and hair are done at Grams.

I assume that was a tomato based soup? Like Chili?

I also must tell you that my thermometer hit 60 yesterday!!!!! Ok, yes, you're right, the sun was shining RIGHT on it but so what. It gives a person reason to hope just to see the effing thermometer above 0.

Then this a.m. we got up at the usual time (6:25) to get ready for school. The kids weren't slow or anything. BUT - we got into the jeep to go to Gram's and what do you think? It was 7:00!!!!!!! Has that ever happened to you? I though it was 6:45!!! I completely lost 15 minutes of my day and let me tell you it was quite painful. We missed the bus on the way UP the road so they had to catch it 10 minutes later, but it really upset the flow of my day. How did my clock get 15 minutes slow? Who would reset it? It wasn't blinking so I know the power didn't go out.

Anyway, I'm trying to decide what to have for breakfast. I think it might be an egg day.

After bridge I came home where JK and I watched "True Stories". I liked it, although I admit I almost decided not to like it, and was completely prepared to sleep through the last 45 minutes but then something fairly interesting happened and drew me back in.

Bridge Report

Bridge was held at Suzanne's house, hosted by Suzanne. All the regulars were there. The cards SUCKED AGAIN and I could barely stand it. Luckily we played pretty fast and got done at 9:30. Prizes were won by: Faye - high, Helen - Low and Faye - Goose. Tracey, Lora and I discussed whether or not we should dye our gray hair. The snack was popcorn and Gardettos which no one like by Tracey, Mitsy and I. A good time was had by all.

alright. enough with the initial strings. I get ROTF and LMAO but what the hell is the rest of it???

i'm thinking about starting a ribbon car magnet fund raiser to pay for my car repairs. maybe baby shit green (we can call it "peas through the digestive tract if you want)...has that color been taken by a cause yet?

...all this radio talk reminds me I forgot to review....

Rick Tyler's 80's Show on Saturday Night....

OMB, it was so GREAT. He played EVERYONE's favorites, though I have to say his audience voted for the worst bands in all the battle of the bands. He played Tears for Fears, Eurythmics, Rick Springfield and Many of your other favorite bands. Kris and Maddy were quite thrilled I'm sure. He didn't play Duran because they DIDN"T win their battle. Can you believe that? He should override the audience when they vote for Survivor or Journey or 38 Special or Chicago.

There are NO radio personalities I like less than Bob and Sheri. I think they are ignorant and pathetic IMHO. Oh, and painfully boring.

Born Today - February 01

Born Today - February 01

Bobcat Goldthwait discovered (not quite soon enough) that his falsetto boy thing couldn't last and decided he better grow up a little or he'd be picking up trash at Madison Square Garden after the game for a living.

my favorite thing at margarita's is the plain ol margarita then second is the chicken chimi

no status. it's at rice's and they're going to call me after they look at it.

blog poll: what's your favorite thing at margaritas?

MY favorite thing at margaritas is the jerk chicken chimichanga.....just if anyone wanted to know.

You know Jen, someday your Karma is going to pay you back for all this.

i just watched my car get towed away. some days you just shouldn't get out of bed.

for mom: i don't know what is wrong with it, i don't know when it will be fixed, and i don't know how much it's going to cost, and i haven't called the people yet.

I guess we're all agreed then. If they're going to make us pay $6 for their coffee they can at least let us do it in our own language!

my favorite thing to order at starbucks is a "medium" and you can see that it drives them bonkers that i don't use their ingorant star-slang, especially in portland. If you order a medium the say "Venti" or whatever it really is, see? I don't even know. And I repeat "medium" then they get all annoyed. Just my little way of brightening up the world I guess.

...but do they carry the NYT? Snoop I'll save my vanity's for you, remind me to bring them when I see you.

here i am, blogging. today i'm going to sanford to check out mardens, dolllar tree, and buy a rib eye for suppah, thanks rk. i'm gonna have baked tater and squash with it. thanks rk for making me have a craving. i'm not going to do much else today. maybe call a place or two about some jobs.

Well that's your loss then isn't it???

The RR red hen was FABULOUS, VERY tasty and juicy, I used fennel, onions, turnip, potatoes and carrots.

Welp, JK and I worked last night then watched Curb. We finished the 3rd season this a.m. O M B. The final episode is so stupid and funny you won't believe it.
