Well this may not be the appropriate forum for this discussion but if it isnt - what is? Here's my theory. In an extremely condensed nutshell. We're Americans. And though individually very few of us have true morals and consciences we really NEED to pretend we do. This movie not getting critical acclaim is NO accident. We're in the era of Bush, darlings, homosexuals or any other sexuals outside the "sanctity of marriage" shall not be discussed or condoned in any way.
The perfect symbol for our collective American morality, I believe, Jen and I saw during our tour of Ohio, and if you've had any discussions about this with me, please forgive my mentioning it again, but at more exits than not, on the right hand side of the road there is a church and on the left hand side of the road is a porn shop (which is probably larger than the church).
