Well yesterday I made the much-lauded vanilla loaf. I attempted to take a shortcut and only use 7 eggs so I wouldn't have to go to the store--the result was slightly dry. EXCELLENT flavor, but a tad dry. the syrup helped. They are easy (but expensive) to make. Try it when you have $20 bucks to spend!
