well i've been having a lovely day. of course it started with homemade strawberry ruhbarb jam on a bagel--how can any day be bad with a start like that. homemade jam is quite the novelty in these parts, trust me. no one can believe i don't own any store-bought jam yet have 3 jars in my fridge. strawberry ruhbarb is my favorite right now, followed closely by blueberry.

other than that, just a regular old work day. i am anxiously awaiting my family's visit next week--i already know i'm going to cry when i see the kids, so brace jk for it now.
