They both have stools to sit on that are adjusted to the same height. There is a line of demarcation on the floor and while they are allowed to stand up and walk around they are not allowed to cross in to each other's territory. There are an equal number of Bush leaning and Kerry leaning audience members. The only person that knows which questions are going to be asked is the moderator. Audience members were required to have their questions prescreened and they are not allowed to deviate from their approved questions. The moderator will ask the same number of questions from each side.
