The article was written by Carl Cameron, Fox News's chief political correspondent. In a message posted on the website, Fox News said, "We regret the error, which occurred because of fatigue and bad judgment, not malice." Later, a Fox News spokesman told the New York Times that Cameron had been reprimanded but he declined to discuss the nature of the reprimand.
