blog book review: she's not there, jennifer finney boylan

well, one thing i can say for her is that she's pretty damned glad that richard russo is famous. she spends as much time talking about their conversations as she does talking about herself.

i wanted to like this book. i was looking forward to reading it. i wanted to love this story of a transgendered colby professor. but she left me HATING her. i mean, this autobiography is SO self absorbed it's pathetic. she has an unhealthy obsession with skirts. even for a girl...she mentions what color her skirt is in every damned scene.

at the end of the book she writes this letter to nasa asking if she can be the first transgendered person in space. this letter is so juvenile and stupid, you realize that even you could be a professor at colby.
