This is jen, not RK. but i'm at her house. we're also supplying pepperoni. i've been in lincoln this am and am going back this pm i believe. i'm tired from all this running the roads--"just like a horse turd," as dina would say, "always on the road."

...and I have to deal with my product today at some point.

wow, they changed blogger a bit I guess.

OK here's the LRNYE plan thus far.

We're going to have pizza, so tell us what you want on your pizza or bring your own ingredients. We're supplying dough, sauce, cheese, ham and mushrooms. I'll keep you updated as jen and i figure out what we have in stock.

LTL is bringing texas caviar if she feels like it
Amy is in charge of bringing mixers
and here's the alcohol supply. You'll have to supply your own if you want something different.

3 shots gin
vodka
1/2 bottle whiskey
1/2 fifth rum
several bottles red wine

someone should probably get some chips i suppose. What else do we need?

well THANK BLOG LTL has returned to the blog to liven things up. i googled myself just now and found that a former student of mine has me listed on her 'myspace.com' account site as her hero. how very sweet.

Well, I'm back, for a few minutes anyway, this week has been the "week of the party" for us. We've had some kind of party every single day. Yesterday was the baby shower and I think it went very well. Today, maybe we'll have a new do party, as Jen and I are allegedly getting our hair done. I don't know if we're lunching it or not, but be prepared snoop, you may get a call.

So as far as I can see there will be parties for the next 3 days at least.....what are you doing?

JK and I are trying to decide if we need an ipod. What do you think?

It wasn't about the ratings. It's an evil conspiracy to get more people to pay for tv. Doesn't disney own ESPN too? Pretty soon all football will be on cable I'll betcha. I'm glad I'm not the only one that talks football on the blog now.

Anyway, thanks to everyone for the lovely xmas. I actually didn't eat myself to death, but there is still 5 days of eating left isn't there. Tonight, bridge, tomorrow, you know what, saturday LRNYE and Sunday doughnuts. Don't say what tomorrow is because the guest of honor occasionally reads the blog, so don't mention that person or the event.

ok something is up with the celestial alignments--i'm awake and ellen is asleep.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!

i am having a lovely time in maine.

here is my greivance towards leigh: i drank too much last night and now i want to vomit. you're the one who kept saying "you can have one more". on the other hand, i'd like to thank jake for helping me consume the beverages.

The feats of strength will take place at 9:00 p.m. Maybe Isaiah will charge up his strength detector that he built.

Jen says

No but Ellen said she Tivo'd it.

Well, I've made "the pud" twice now and it hasn't come out. I guess I'm not successful at steaming it in the coffee can. I'll do the next one in a mold, as I've never ruined one that way. I know I'm just not letting it steam long enough.

Anyway, besides picking up a few last minute gift certificates and misc wrapping, I'm done. I miss you all right now. I hate wrapping by myself. It's no fun at all without someone drinking wine and putting their finger on the ribbon knots. I have a couple of bags still undone.

The good news is I got all my homemade gifts done. I don't know how I managed it. The other good news, is that I don't have anything to cook at all (except the afrorementioned "pud").

I believe you should ALL fill out an amazon wish list under your regular email address if you don't have one already, this includes your spouse. It's pretty obnoxious to try to buy things for some of you.

Welcome Back RR! Email my schedule or give me a ring. I'll be home tonight after 5 - my number is 5697.

Monday, December 19, 2005

i'm also thrilled for you snoop! i think you're going to have a lot of fun!

Cool!!! Congrats Snoop! I'm thrilled for you.

Well, the kids and I have baked up a storm this weekend. We've made sugar cookies, molasses cookies and blonde brownies. I have one more thing I HAVE to cook one more thing before I'm done.

Blog Recommendation: Bring your apron for the weekend.

FilmMovement

I don't know who ordered it, but I got the first FilmMovement dvd, it's number 12, so don't get that one.

Saturday, December 17, 2005

I would choose light as well, as I am allergic to most noise at any level. I'm hypersensitive to it.

The kids and I did a lot of shopping today too. Now we're making cookies and I'm hoping to play a poker match at some point.

i'd choose the light as well.

you have both? might a doctor visit be in order?

Friday, December 16, 2005

aww becky that's cute...but why the hell don't you have a tree?

Good luck Snoop. Don't be shy!

does that mean you'll be getting an empty basket for an exmas bonus? It's illegal to ship wine to maine too, which is absolutely ridiculous imho.

don't you hate it when you wake up super early for no reason???? i'm very mad right now. i could be sleeping for a couple more hours.

i went to yoga last night. we played "i'm a little teapot"....at least that's what it seemed like. half-moon pose.

word around the office water cooler is that the VPs sent us all super delux gift baskets for xmas. let's see if i can find a link. i don't know. i can't find it. all i know is that it's from wine country, but it's illegal to ship wine to va addresses, so what's the point really? but it's a nice gesture since we're not having the famed 500K christmas party as in days of yore.

mila and todd are off to vt today, and andrea is off to germany. happy travels, one and all!

Thursday, December 15, 2005

Today I'm making coffee, then probably will be running around doing all the crap I don't want to do tomorrow. Hopefully my car will be getting fixed as well. Tonight is piano and cubscouts. What will I do tonight without Survivor?

Lastnight I watched the ENTIRE 3.5 hours of Lawrence of Arabia. I have to say, it IS as great as everyone says, but some of you would have to really be in the mood for it, and I don't recommend it to Jen at all unless she's completely psyched up for it. I personally loved it, and maybe I'll watch it again tonight since there isn't anything else to do. Omar Sharif is wonderful and so is Peter O'Toole. My only viewing suggestion is to turn the volume way up because those Brits can be difficult to understand.

I agree, it will be nice when LTL returns to work.

Wednesday, December 14, 2005

should we have a countdown to when LTL returns to work so that we can have some blogging here? and where is RR?

ok. so it shall be.

dunkin donuts is so dead to me.

snoop do you think your mother is up for a christmas eve day lunch in bangor--complete with some coffees and a bit of last minute shopping?

Jen, you don't have to lie about the steamed pudding, if it's not top 5 just say so.

Mine is:
TG sandwich
Gram's fruitcake
xmas cookies
mashed potatoes with gravy

speaking of which, Lora is making mashed potatoes for me.

I agree with the turkey sandwich Jen, it's probably my favorite thing of all.

...and for those of you who've never had one, here's the recipe

Thanksgiving Sandwich a la our house

2 slices extremely fresh bread
cold or room temp stuffing (must have onions in it)
cold or room temp turkey
mayo
cranberry sauce (I prefer whole berry)

take bread
slather both sides with mayo and cranberry sauce
pile up turkey and stuffing till it fits your appetite
sprinkle with salt and pepper
slice on the diagonal
enjoy

of course i kinda cheated, because thanksgiving sandwich has all the elements of turkey dinner that i love the most.

TOP 5 holiday treats--in no particular order

candy canes

peppermint mocha latte

thanksgiving sandwich

ellen's smashed taters

(and i would be completely disowned if i did not say) steamed pudding

Blog Poll:

What are your top 5 holiday treats?

Burlington Bridge Report:

Bridge was hosted by Helen Fogg at the home of Suzanne Shorey on Tuesday, December 13. Lora Harding, Suzanne Shorey, Rachael Kilby, Orland Shorey, Tracey Lemay and Faye Wakefield all attended. The special guest was Nonie Lord. Nonie got a little slam and Tracey got a grand slam. Prizes were awarded to Faye (goose), Nonie (low), and Rachael (high). Helen served her world-famous date squares, (which were fantastic as always). A very good time was had by all. Merry Christmas to our Snowbirds in Zephyrhills and Largo, Florida. Next week bridge will be at Suzanne's on Tuesday, hosted by Suzanne, and will be our Christmas party.

Unk ROCKS

'nuff said.

rk's response to my comment on dan harris's expanding head?

"still, now's your chance to find him and make him your own"

oh, how i wish i could!

I LOVE YOU DAN HARRIS!

has it? well...i do feel pretty special about that. i owe 356 people a little payola.

congrats to George Stephanopoulous!!!

luv you man.

Jen, how thrilling is it to know your profile has been viewed more than twice as much as anyone else on the blog?

Monday, December 12, 2005

Oh, I guess I better delete it then.

Welp, I've had my last Munchkin...

This post has been deleted, see above. Suffice it to say Dunkin' Donuts has been purchased by The Carlyle Group. Good thing I hate their coffee anyway.

they haven't gathered any moss, per se....but they sure do look like death just slightly warmed over.

dec 22-jan 3 events

i'll be flying into p'land on the 23rd. landing around noon. hopefully doing some last minute shopping before i go home with amy. staying with the thurlows. leaving b-town around the 26th. going to nh/mass/amy's for 3 days. returning to b-town the 29th. lrnye. flying back to va on jan 3. hopefully seeing bob to get my hair done.

..though, if I'd known they existed, I would have saved my money and asked for a Patriot's santa hat for xmas.

In fashion news, I got a new Santa hat for the holidays. It's red and sparkly with fake fur around the brim and on the pom.

My plan is to be at the beck and call of the rest of you. We're not even having a corporate party this year so I have an open schedule.

Blog Topic: Dec 22 through Jan 3 - schedule of events

Discuss.

I'll put her back, but you have to understand, I need to do these things in phases so I know what's screwing things up.

Look at these guys, I mean really. I love you, but please retire. Posted by Picasa

Don't screw with the blog! Since it's working, though not perfectly. I'm thrilled for the Steeler's too. We're gonna have a fun playoff season Leigh. I'm glad you've jumped on the football bandwagon. The superbowl will be extra exciting with you there. Though we did have a great time last year didn't we Amy? You guys better work SBS into your calendars. It's February 5.

Yesterday I did some housework, played poker and watched football. Congrats to my Pat's. I also watched survivor and I have to say, I half wanted Steph to win, but only half so I guess I'm ok with Danni winning. I'm sure Steph will be back for the next season. CBS won't be contented until they've given her a million $$$. Why don't they just put her on the early show and dump Harry Smith.

don't SCREW WITH IT!!!!!

Sunday, December 11, 2005

I dread that I'm going to have to reformat this friggin blog.

Anyway, yesterday I went shopping with my friend Karen. We hit Bangor pretty early and that was a good thing, because in the afternoon it really got mobbed. I got a great deal of shopping done and am going to try to finish it today online. I'm going to start my wrapping today. So you guys don't have to do it when you get home.

When I got home the kids decorated Suzanne and Orlies's tree. Then we had dinner with the Thurlow which was SO much fun. Ralph and I drank a lot of rum and whisky. We had spaghetti, bread and salad and Ralph said it was the best spaghetti he'd ever had! What a compliment to Orlie. We also played poker until 11. Suzanne won.

SWEET

my copy of MoZ is signed by bill cohen.

i got napoleon dynamite from andrea for christmas.......sweet.

i also got an official napoleon dynamite talking pen--sweet.

THIS MEANS YOU!!!

Do you have my copy of Men of Zeal? If you think you have it please check. You'll know it's mine because it's autographed by George Mitchell. Please return it.

Blog Review: Zarbes

First let me just say a big hearty THANK YOU to Janelle who told me about these things. This is what it is. You take green onions, like two bunches, slice them very thin and layer them in a jar with kosher salt. Then you set them in the door of your refreigerator. I have no idea how long they will sit there but it's a very long time. Any time you make a soup or something where you really want to build some flavor you throw in a teaspoon (sautee them a bit). Not since I discovered garlic didn't come in a powder or a jar have I been so thrilled to have a new staple in my fridge.

Today's use: Janelle's patented pot roast.

i am happy to be coming home--but have you called bob yet??? i may have to call him myself because i'm going to have a small window of availability.

There WILL be garlic bread and salad. I'm going shopping Saturday morning but should be home by mid afternoon. I myself have seen Dead Man and feel it's one of the best Depp movies EVER. I'm sure you watched it just because I raved about it on the blog long ago.

Thursday, December 08, 2005

i don't think it's possible that i could be more grumpy. i just want to go in a corner and cry for the rest of the day...or slap someone.

I am not grumpy, however, I'm a bit bored.

The rents are having spaghetti and poker Saturday, for anyone who is interested in attending.

pulp fiction?

anyway i'm grumpy today. i have no reason to be grumpy, but i am grumpy nonetheless. i really have no reason for it--everything is good. i don't even have 6 tons of work to do, but i'm grumpy. yoga tonight.

Wednesday, December 07, 2005

JK and I have spent most of our entertainment time watching old movies this week. So here are the very short reviews...

Operation Petticoat
Unwatchable

8 1/2
We loved it, though we spent most of the movie comparing it to Seinfeld episodes. I think I better watch it again.

Days of Wine and Roses
I really liked it. I mean it was long and drawn out, but I thought the story was good. I'm struck by how many of these old movies deal with controversial issues (alcoholism in this case). For some reason I've always had the idea that they never talked about these things in the 50's and 60's.

Vertigo
Currently viewing. I'll let you know.

That one's too easy. I'll let everyone else try first.

Anyone up for poker saturday?

Thank God Leigh.

Monday, December 05, 2005

Dear Leigh,
My sincerest apologies for not blogging you happy birthday. I regret that I was not near a computer that day and otherwise forgot as I was totally focused on Richmond Virginia. Anyway, hope you enjoyed ND.

Otherwise, I'm back, after a hectic trip. II'm utterly exhausted from fighting with Delta Airlines for a good part of the day yesterday. It was pretty stressful for 4 hours or so. STill, I made it home, thanks to the kindness of other stranded strangers who helped me get where I needed to go.

GG please email me when you get your email set up.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SUZIE

and many more....

does anyone know where my sister is??
